AIGA DFW Community Meetings, held the first Thursday of each quarter, are free and open to everyone in the design community. You'll hear updates on chapter happenings, learn how you can make an impact, gain valuable insights on the changing face of design from two speakers, and have an opportunity to share your own news and questions during our open floor.
During this, our final Community Meeting of the season, you will be asked to point the way as we plan our next exciting season for AIGA DFW. Bring your ideas of what worked, what didn’t and what you want to see in our future.
Our keynote for the evening:
Zenab Bastawala is an educator, researcher, typographer, type designer, and sign collector. She teaches graphic design and typography at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology. In 2018, she founded 'Thinking Letterforms' - a print lab at Srishti - where she conducts typesetting studios and workshops focused on typography theory and printing techniques from hot metal to cold type. Zenab also curates 'Sign Walks,' an online platform that looks into urban signages through the context of typography.
And from our AIGA UNT Student Group:
Jessica Bond is the Vice President of the AIGA UNT Student Group and a recent visual communication graduate. She is an active duty Navy veteran and worked in the middle east as a cryptologic linguist before moving to Texas. People and their unique stories are her passion, and she loves seeing their ideas come to life through her design decisions.
